Details
All standard frames include:
A mixture of green oak, air dried oak and kiln dried Douglas fir.
Areas of oak frame that are glazed are built using oak that has been air dried for 4 years; this provides a more stable structure.
All other areas of the oak frame is green i.e. fresh sawn which will be subject to more movement and checking.
All studwork is made from kiln dried Douglas fir which is mortised into the oak frame; giving a more stable platform for internal plasterboard finishes.
Floor joists are kiln dried Douglas except for the porch area in the woodsman model, which are green oak.
All standard models come with oak rafters and trusses.
The front of all standard models are glazed, including the truss.
(The rear truss can also be glazed as an extra).
The roof covering for the standard model is cedar shingles.
The standard offices are insulated with 100mm fibre glass in the walls.
The roof is insulated using muti-layered foil insulation (equivalent to 200mm).
Internal finishes will be soundblock plasterboard with 3 coats of taping & jointing and finished with the paint of your choice.
Internal flooring will be a quality laminate, decking to porch area with treated softwood.
(Oak an additional cost).
Cladding to the standard model will be Siberian larch.
